The AHA, American Academy of Pediatrics, and Children鈥檚 Hospital Association yesterday urged President Obama to fully fund the Children鈥檚 Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program at its authorized level of $300 million in the Department of Health and Human Services budget for fiscal year 2017. 鈥淭he 56 freestanding children鈥檚 hospitals that receive CHGME funding train approximately half of all future pediatricians and the majority of all residents in pediatric subspecialties,鈥 the organizations wrote.

Obstetricians and perinatal nurses are often first responders with limited experience in managing primary cardiac arrest and ACLS pregnancy modifications. Multidisciplinary simulations improve performance in catastrophe management but few studies regarding MCA simulation education exist.
