The 黑料正能量 Association (AHA) Survey Center is responsible for building, disseminating, collecting and supporting several key surveys distributed to the field, including the AHA Annual Survey and the AHA Annual Survey Information Technology Supplement.
The survey team works across the association to help departments develop surveys and collect data to support business objectives and outcomes.

Healthcare leaders, policy makers and researchers use the AHA Annual Survey to better describe and understand the operations of U.S. hospitals. The data is also used for Federal Government advocacy purposes. The data collected is used to work with legislators and other policy makers to give them an accurate picture of what is happening in the industry and state. The results of this survey data become a critical tool in our efforts to protect and improve payment policies on both the state and federal level.
A: Yes, those who complete the annual survey will have access to the following reports:
- Hospital Summary Report: A comprehensive summary of your hospital鈥檚 key characteristics, including accreditations, ownership type, primary service type, facilities and staffing data, and primary and general services.
- Hospital Profile Report: A profile of your hospital, comparing your current survey year's data with the previous survey year's, as well as benchmarking against similar (or 鈥減eer鈥) hospitals (based on their data from the previous survey year).
- Hospital Trend Report: A 5-year overview of reported key metrics for your hospital, designed to help you identify trends and track changes in activity or reporting over time. All data is self-reported (not estimated) and based on your historical submissions.
- Hospital Peer Report: A comparison of your hospital's data with that of similar hospitals across your state, your census division, and the entire U.S. This report helps you understand how your hospital measures up to peers with comparable bed size, ownership, and primary service focus.
