Value-based payment
Thirteen organizations representing health care providers, including the AHA, voiced support for the Value in Health Care Act, legislation to strengthen Medicare鈥檚 value-based payment models and accountable care organizations.
The AHA July 20 submitted comments on proposed Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations that would support state flexibility in Medicaid drug value-based purchasing arrangements and other changes to the Medicaid drug rebate program for fiscal year 2021.
AHA supports extending the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model for an additional three years, but only on a voluntary basis, the association told the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The 2020 Industry Pulse Report from Change Healthcare, a technology company that provides data and analytics solutions to improve clinical and financial outcomes, found payers were far more likely than providers to have migrated to value-based care strategies. The survey drew from a sample of 445鈥
