The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today released the final rule for the home health prospective payment system for calendar year 2018. For CY 2018, the rule decreases net HH payments by 0.4 percentage points, or $80 million, relative to CY 2017.
This critique examines the prototype Medicare payment system for post-acute care (PAC) developed by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) in 2016.

Commenting today on a potential alternative to Medicare鈥檚 current 鈥淩UGs鈥 payment system for skilled nursing facility services, AHA said the proposed 鈥淩CS-1鈥 replacement model would generally promote the strengths of hospital-based SNFs but called on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services鈥
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has extended the deadline for submitting assessment measure data to the skilled nursing facility quality reporting program for the first three quarters of calendar year 2017 so it can correct technical issues with the current Review and Correct鈥
