Hospitals and health systems added 27,500 jobs in September, while U.S. jobs overall increased by 263,000, . Total health care jobs grew by 60,100 in September to a seasonally adjusted 16.5 million. While the data show the work hospitals and health systems have done to fill critical positions in the face of unprecedented workforce pressures, they continue to experience increased demand and soaring labor costs resulting in hospital cost growth continuing to outpace both volume and revenue.
