The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has finalized an indefinite delay in the start date of its radiation oncology model, according to a  published yesterday. AHA had urged CMS to delay the model鈥檚 launch, which was scheduled for January 2023, writing that the agency鈥檚 stated goal of using the model to ensure fair, predictable payment for radiation oncologists 鈥渉as been marred by the incorporation of significant payment cuts and substantial administrative burdens for those participating in this mandatory model.鈥 CMS will set a new start date through future rulemaking.
