About 275,000 low-income adults are now eligible for coverage under Medicaid expansion in Missouri, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services  yesterday. The Missouri Supreme Court in July overturned a lower court ruling that a voter-approved constitutional amendment to expand the state’s Medicaid program was unconstitutional. The state began processing over 17,000 applications Oct. 1. With the addition of Missouri, 38 states and the District of Columbia have expanded Medicaid coverage to uninsured low-income adults under the Affordable Care Act.
