A California state judge yesterday granted to a settlement agreement in antitrust litigation alleging Sutter Health used anticompetitive practices in its contracts with a union鈥檚 health plans.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union reached the with Sutter Heath in December 2019.

鈥淭oday鈥檚 ruling enables the settlement approval process to continue moving toward final approval, which will ultimately help preserve our integrated network of care and is in the best interests of our patients and the communities we serve,鈥 Sutter Health said in a statement.
