Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.004% in March to a seasonally adjusted 5,261,500 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics  today. That's 200 more people than in February and 90,900 more than a year ago.

Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,258,100 people in March – 200 more than in February and 90,000 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate rose by 0.9 percentage point in March to 4.4%.
