The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday approved two Section 1115 allowing South Carolina to expand Medicaid eligibility to certain adults if they participate at least 80 hours per month in work, job training, education or community service activities. Eligible adults include parents with incomes under the federal poverty level and individuals who are chronically homeless, justice involved or needing substance use disorder treatment. Gov. Henry McMaster yesterday created a task force to implement the five-year waivers.
