The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems has released a to help hospital leaders and others prevent and reduce violence against hospital workers, developed in collaboration with other health care and labor stakeholders. 鈥淲e are proud to have worked in close partnership with the diverse group involved in this effort and we believe that the resulting toolkit will build on hospitals鈥 existing safety programs to ensure we protect hospital staff from violence,鈥 OAHHS President and CEO Andy Davidson. 鈥淎t the end of the day, we all care deeply about keeping people safe while they care for the sick and believe that we should take all steps possible to reduce violence in our hospitals and health care settings to zero.鈥 The AHA鈥檚 Hospitals Against Violence initiative also offers resources on combatting violence in communities and hospitals at www.aha.org/hospitalsagainstviolence.
