Leaders of the House Energy and Commerce and Senate Finance committees Friday asked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide more information on how the agency is implementing the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System, an initiative to improve the scope and quality of state-reported Medicaid data, citing a Government Accountability Office last December that found implementation progress as well as challenges. 鈥淏ased on the findings of the report and conversations with state Medicaid directors and other Medicaid stakeholders, we seek further information to ensure successful implementation of T-MSIS continues in a manner that ensures the final T-MSIS system is useful, operationally viable, and sustainable,鈥 the committee leaders .
