CDC Launches Antibiotic Stewardship Online Course
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office of Antibiotic Stewardship yesterday released the first in a four-part online on antibiotic stewardship. Additional segments will be released later this year. Completing the free training counts as an improvement activity under Medicare’s new Merit-based Incentive Payment System for clinicians. It also qualifies for certain continuing education credit. For additional antibiotic stewardship resources, see the AHA toolkit developed in collaboration with CDC and others, and the for small and critical access hospitals, developed with AHA and the Pew Charitable Trusts.
