Hospital Association of Southern California announces next president/CEO
The Hospital Association of Southern California yesterday as its next president and CEO George Greene, currently president/CEO of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii and a former AHA regional executive. Greene will assume the position Feb. 1, when current HASC president and CEO Jim Barber will retire after 27 years with the association. “HASC has a very long and distinguished history of service to hospitals and health systems, and I look forward to helping lead hospitals through the challenges that face all of us,” Greene said. As leader of HASC, he will also work closely with the California Hospital Association in Sacramento on state and national health care affairs. “We are very pleased that George Greene has agreed to accept this important position,” said Richard Afable, M.D., HASC chair and president/CEO of St. Joseph Hoag Health. “He is a relationship-driven leader with a successful track record working through strategic policy and advocacy issues with diverse stakeholder groups.”
