CDC provides health departments $67 million to fight antibiotic resistance
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday it will provide $67 million in funding to public health departments across the country to help combat antibiotic resistance. The funds, which will be available Aug. 1 through the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Cooperative Agreement, will support and implementation of the . They also will be used to tackle healthcare-associated infections. In addition to all 50 states and Puerto Rico, local health departments in Chicago, the District of Columbia, Houston, Los Angeles County, New York City and Philadelphia will receive funds.
