ONC posts certified health IT product disclosures, transparency attestations

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology yesterday  transparency attestations and links to mandatory product disclosures by developers of certified health information technology. The agency  the information also will be posted to its upgraded . Under ONC’s 2015 Edition final rule, certified IT developers must disclose on their websites and in marketing materials any limitations and types of costs that users of their products may incur. Developers also must attest whether they will voluntarily take additional actions to support transparency, including making information about their business practices available to potential customers in more targeted and useful ways. The AHA last month urged ONC to include additional functionality on its website so stakeholders may learn specifically how certified health IT products support interoperability.
