Twenty-four individuals, including Institute for Diversity in Health Management Past President and CEO Fred Hobby, were  last night at the third annual Top Blacks in Healthcare Awards Gala. The event, which was hosted in Baltimore by BlackDoctor.org and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions, recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to medicine and health. In addition to Hobby, other honorees from AHA member organizations were Ruth Brinkley, president and CEO of KentuckyOne Health and senior vice president for Catholic Health Initiatives; George Brown, president and CEO of Legacy Health; Reginald Coopwood, M.D., president and CEO of Regional One Health; Michelle Gaskill-Hames, senior vice president and area manager of Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center; Dennis Pullin, president of MedStar Harbor Hospital and senior vice president of MedStar Health; and Pamela Sutton-Wallace, CEO of University of Virginia Medical Center. AHA sponsored the event.
