Study: Medicaid expansion has been good for Colorado's economy
Medicaid expansion in Colorado has added 31,074 jobs and $3.8 billion to the state’s economy in the two years since implementation, according to a by the Colorado Futures Center at Colorado State University, released last week by the Colorado Health Foundation. By fiscal year 2034-2035, the study projects the economic impact will grow to 43,018 new jobs and $8.5 billion, among other benefits. “Colorado's Medicaid expansion has been a success on all fronts,” said Steven Summer, president and CEO of the Colorado Hospital Association. “It has helped provide financial stability for Colorado hospitals and health systems, provided positive impact on our state’s economy and most importantly, provided access to care for more than 400,000 previously uninsured patients."
