ASHE recognizes hospitals for cutting energy consumption
The American Society for Healthcare Engineering yesterday more than 20 hospitals for their work to slash energy use, reduce operational costs and free up more resources for patient care. The recognition is part of ASHE's Energy to Care program, which encourages hospitals to reduce their energy consumption by 10% or more. Participating hospitals have tracked more than $67 million in energy savings since 2009. For more about the free program, which includes a robust energy benchmarking tool, visit www.energytocare.com. The awards were presented at the association’s Annual Conference and Technical Exhibition in Boston, where ASHE also outstanding members and a collaboration with The Joint Commission to help hospitals comply with life safety and environment of care requirements.
