More than 1,000 creative minds will come together at the fourth annual to discuss the cutting-edge health issues of our time. Spotlight Health is the opening segment of the annual Aspen Ideas Festival and takes place June 22-25 in Aspen, Colo.

Spotlight Health鈥檚 deep dive along the cutting edge of health and medicine is presented through a global lens. A mix of formats, including keynotes, one-on-one interviews, interactive sessions, and panel discussions will foster learning and encourage informal conversations with speakers.

The AHA is proud to support and participate in this year鈥檚 event, including sharing our effort听Advancing Health in America.听Spotlight Health speakers will include Jay Bhatt, D.O., the AHA鈥檚 chief medical officer and president of the AHA-affiliated Health Research & Educational Trust; Maryjane Wurth, the AHA鈥檚 executive vice president and chief operating officer; Carl Armato, president and chief executive officer of Novant Health; Jesse Cureton, chief consumer officer of Novant Health; and Joe Wilkins, senior vice president and chief transformation officer of Atlantic Health System. Armato and Wilkins are members of the AHA Committee on Healthcare Strategy and Innovation.

Also attending is Sarah Dewitt, M.D., an emergency medicine resident from Carilion Clinic, who was selected by Nancy Agee, president and chief executive officer of Carilion and AHA chair-elect. Joining the AHA delegation are staffers Elisa Arespacochaga, Christina Jack and Jasmin Clark, who was selected as a 2017 Spotlight Health Scholar.

Bhatt, Wilkins and Wurth will participate in a June 23 panel discussion on 鈥淩eimagining Physician Training and Partnerships to Create Healthier Communities.鈥 Armato, Bhatt and Cureton will be part of a June 24 panel discussion titled 鈥淐onsumerism and Innovation: Pathways to Affordability?鈥 Dewitt is co-leading a June 23 roundtable session on physician resilience and burnout.

Three days of stimulating and often provocative conversation, film and interactive activities on the biggest ideas in the most innovative fields make Spotlight Health the health care conference to attend.
