The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Friday released its for the Geographic Direct Contracting Model, known as Geo.

CMS expects to accept applications March 1 through April 2 via an online portal. Participants in , announced last month and the last of the agency鈥檚 suite of direct contracting options, will take responsibility for the total cost of care for a portion of all Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries in a specific region. The goal is to enable direct contracting entities to build integrated relationships with health care providers and community organizations in a region to better coordinate care and address the clinical and social needs of Medicare beneficiaries.
