Hospitals add 8,700 jobs in March
Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.17% in March to a seasonally adjusted 5,095,800 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics today. That's 8,700 more people than in February and 112,100 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,090,300 people in March – 11,900 more than in February and 110,400 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage point in March to 4.5%.
