NAM launches collaborative to promote clinician well-being
The National Academy of Medicine today launched an “action collaborative” to promote clinician well-being and resilience. The AHA is an inaugural sponsoring member of the collaborative, which will provide a platform for professional and educational organizations to advance evidence-based solutions to clinician burnout, depression and suicide. “Numerous studies show clinician stress is associated with lower patient satisfaction, a negative impact on health care quality, overuse of resources and increased costs,” note AHA Chief Medical Officer Jay Bhatt and Chief Nursing Officer Maureen Swick in an AHA Stat . “…This program will build a collaborative platform for supporting and improving clinician well-being and resilience by advancing solutions that reverse current burnout trends and, ultimately, improve patient care.” For more on the Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience, visit .
